Library of Alexandria

Laid in ruins from ancient foes
Cast aside from times gone by.
Oceans hide what partly laid
Once grand structure now no more.
Learned people once walked the halls
That must have been several stories tall.
Lined with miles of ancient texts,
Scrolls that came from near and far,
Gather together in this library grand.
With a beacon of light to guide all in.
In a grand city that once was in its prime
Now the jewel of the city lies in ruins past its time.
