After Snow

Layer of icy snow melts;
Upon a hot sun high above the sky.
The January thaw has come to past.
Days of few come with warm temps;
To melt the mounds of snow
That rest peacefully upon the ground.
Like putting a horrible curse;
The beautiful snow shrinks away to nothingness;
Leaving behind ugly; churned up mud in its place.
The ground soft and muddy lies in ruin state;
To where once the glistening beauty of snow;
Now has disappeared for a while.
But the winter is still at hand
To bring fresh, beautiful snow again soon.
