Blanket Of White

Blanket of white wraps ground tight
In its cold grip no heat escapes
Tight as steel doors no warmth
Seeps through; fridge, cold
Frozen is its heart, no tears shed
Perhaps under cold exterior
There is hope to melt what’s frozen
Then water will gush out;
Bring the heat;
The warmth that is needed
Will release ground from grips–
The blanket of white
