Dark forests deep at every turn
Surrounded pressed in like a box
I lay in center trying break free.
Wall of pine needles prick me
To stay within my space
But I need to break free.
Above me light shine with hope
But it’s not large enough
To climb above to break free.
Forest presses me down
But I will not give an inch
I will find away to break free.
Three young whipper snappers trampled to the river
Carrying gear for fishing they hope to catch
But no one told them of the fish name giver
For he always seem to win the match.
No one could catch him for he was too clever
For he that river he said was his home forever.
The youngsters saw him when they sat down
He jumped in and out shouting, “come take me”.
Youngsters got to it with the poles they frown,
“We will get you, giver fish just wait and see”.
“No one can and no one will because I’m clever.
I’ll stay in this river, you will see forever”.
All day long they tried their best to catch the fish
But he laughed at their every attempt
Which made them determine to make him into a dish
They scowled at him with contempt,
“We will catch you no doubt about it”,
As they grumbled where they sit.
Day about to close at last
They had one more chance to make the catch
One last bait between them they had to catch him fast
“Must spice up our bait before we can snatch
Or else he will gloat and taunt again
No more time we must reel him in”.
They knew he like seasonings and spices plenty
But also the butter and beans
So they dress up the bait with many
Of a crazy dish the fish had ever seen.
Wide eye the fish was swimming back and forth
He probably was thinking swimming from there to north.
But the sight got the best of him he didn’t know why
For sooner than later he was on the bait tight
Youngsters hurried to reel him and watched him fly
Flopping that way and that as he tried to fight.
Fish Giver lost this match
To three youngsters who wanted a catch.
Will you come follow me
Through high grasses
That could touch the sky
Then wade through a brook
To the other side
Through dense forest dark with gloom
To find the hiding place
We use to go to when young
Where we played the day away
Knowing we could be anything
Will you follow me back there
Like we did in the past
Wispy wind of a winter song,
Sounds through the ages long.
Its nippy rhythm it brings,
For all the snow it flings.
Sound is stark and dreary,
Which can make days very weary.
To hear the howling wind sing,
Is like hearing a very dull ring.
For its music is cold and icy
Even if the snow sings lightly.
Hope the songs ends soon,
for I am tired of its tune.
Death came knocking at my door
But where was I; I wasn’t home.
I wasn’t ready to see him yet
I was traveling the world far and wide
Taking my last days before I say goodbye.
Death waited patiently at my home
I had a note that said I’d be home soon.
He waited there a few days more
Then left a note too; to say he’d back soon.
Death came knocking the following week
Nobody answered; I was still not there.
Death checked the day; saw it was wrong
He came back the end of week;
I was finally there to answer his knock.
I invited him in and he said its time
I took his hand to leave my physical life.
Child will you not sleep for time is dark
The evening draws near to tuck you in
For you must rest and dream.
Child will you not sleep for tomorrow
Draws close and sun will come again
To shine down and welcome the new day.
Child will you not sleep for when you don’t
Your pouts and fits carry with out rest
You need so much now.
Child will you not sleep for I grow weary
And wish to lay my head down to rest
For sleep comes to me also.
Come join me too in sleep my child
We will both lay down together
Sleep peacefully till sun wakes us again.
What is love that cascades down upon me?
Washing sweet fragrance into the air
Intoxicating aroma making one stumble blindly
Along trying to catch your heart;
But with wings flies away like a butterfly.
In a trance the sparkling love pours out of you
I am there to lap it; perhaps store it like wine
Waiting for it to ferment;
Then get drunk in all it has to offer.
What is love that comes from you?
I seem to be lost within your heart.
Love is like nature on cool evening
With a golden moon high in sky
Smiling a smile down welcoming
With open arms to forests, who
Whisper sweet nothings in an ear;
Running brook that glistens in moonlight
Like shimmering hair that catches the light.
Sweet smell of flowers that nature brings
For a love blossoms full of rare beauty
Catches the eye of a stranger; plucks it
And carry away in romantic trance
Love of nature can be found all around
From animals, trees and moon so high;
I listen to nature play romantic melody
And watch the love unfold all around me.
Open your heart; let love pour
In filling your soul full to top
Don’t wait for it to stop
For love may start to soar.
Love will bound away
Skipping through tall grasses
Keep up through narrow passes
Love won’t leave; will find the way.
Love will find its home this way
Through the open door
Straight to heart it will pour
Into soul; this very day.
Do you need a helping paw?
For I will give all four to you
If you drop something on the floor
I will pick it in my jaw.
I will help turn on the light
To make it easier for you
If you are blind and can’t see
My eyes will be your sight.
I’m what they call a helping dog
I help those who cannot see
Or those that are wheelchair
So they call me a special dog.
