The Plaid

She brings it out, wrapping it around her neck;
the plaid colors of greens, reds, orange and yellow;
which shows our Scottish tartan of where we came from;
for when it is Scottish Heritage Sunday at church,
we wear our plaid proudly, whether be scarf, plaid skirt
or any other article of clothing or accessory.

Day 6, April poetry: Write a prose poem on the word “plaid.” It might involve a memory of a piece of plaid clothing worn by you or someone you know, it might relate to Scotland, or it might reflect the abstraction of crissing and crossing.
