Landay Poem

Welcome to April poetry month everyone!! Here is the first poem in April. This poem is called a landay, two lines with first line 9 syllables and 13 in second which contains a couplet.

Distant land ravaged and torn apart
Trampled under dirty feet she was stabbed in the heart

April 1st prompt: Try your hand at writing a landay, a couplet form in Afghani poetry with nine syllables in the first line and 13 syllables in the second, usually about grief, love, separation, war or motherland.
