Dog’s Thank You For Christmas Decorations

Thank you for bringing home a fresh scented tree
placing it so carefully in the stand filled water.
Another watering bowl I may use to lap the water.
To bad the branches are not low enough
To mark my territory on; I guess I do it on the stand.
Thanks for the garland you draped so carefully around
the railings. It will be a great game to tug them off
when you go out shopping for your gifts.
Thank you for plush toys of Santas and snowmen
for their stuffing will come out in minutes; even though
I would prefer the squeaky kind the best.
Thanks for the ornaments for they will be broken
when I race around the tree at top speeds
hoping to knock the tree down and watch them fall.
Thank you for the Christmas decorations
for before Christmas begins; they will
litter your home as I reek havoc on them.

Just Seven More Days

Just seven more days till Christmas
Just seven more days indeed
Santa will come through on his sleigh
Pulling his eight flying reindeer
He’ll come down the chimney
Then fast as can be presents
Will be placed under the tree
My stocking will flow with tiny gifts
Hope it stays on its hook and not break
I’ll be fast asleep upstairs
While Santa moves like a mouse down below
I’ll dream of a winter fairyland
And dance with a sugar plum fairy
Then feel the warmth of sun rays
Morning has come shining through
Jump out of bed with great excitement
Wake parents and run around
Time to go down and see
What Santa has left for us

Maybe A Green Christmas

Not a flake in the sky
No snow mounds around
Christmas maybe green this time around
For weather temps seem to high
Where’s the snow to make all white
Where’s the cold with all its bite.

Gone on a holiday it may seem
It forgot it’s December the month of snow
Maybe the weather may come back who will know
In time for Christmas, so it won’t be green
So Christmas Eve we hope snow to fall
As we share the holiday with family and all.
