A Star

Oh,
What
beautiful
Star that radiates
The sky at night, that
Shines brightly against
The darken skies tonight.
Powerful beams like a beacon,
Beckon me to gaze upon you; Glowing
Your white energy far and wide in the near empty sky at night.
Your sisters and brothers you dim them down so only you may shine the brightest.
You make me want to reach up with my hands; grab a hold of you, Oh shining star.
But, no I will be content to leave you in your sky and not to pluck
You down and hold you in my bosom
I know you would surely loose
Your light. Shine away you
Beautiful bright star for
Tonight is your night
I see, When you can
Shine, oh star;
Go shine
On.

April 20th prompt. Write a concrete poem in which the shape of the poem mimics the subject of the poem. Funny even when I draw my stars always look off. 🙂

A Beautiful Sight

Morning sun shining to bright,
Clear of clouds in the sky
It is such a beautiful sight.

I am glad it is still light,
Because then I can spy
Morning sun shining to bright.

Trees waving with all their might,
From great winds they comply;
It is such a beautiful sight.

Above the tree birds take flight
To across the sun they fly;
Morning sun shining to bright.

Like a painting for the first light
The golden morning sun I sigh
It is such a beautiful sight.

This is nature at its greatest delight
That I am glad that I watch nearby;
Morning sun shining to bright,
It is such a beautiful sight.

April 17th prompt. Write a Villanelle poem. This was a tricky poem to write. Here is a link to how this poem works: Poet’s Villanelle page.
