Your Face Is Everywhere

I see your face everywhere.
Your early portrait hangs on wall
tongue out showing your happy grin.
An image cube; I turn and turn ever so often
with changing of seasons.
You smile from metals prints
placed on mantle;
With three photos of your last photo shoot.
You smile out my current painting
I painted of you; an older version than the last.
You smile from greeting cards I get from Grandma.
Canvas photo of you on beach towel;
Smile with sunglasses on me from top of couch.
Mini painting I have tried painting of you
dot my windows sill view.
You are there in my photo frames
in living room where I pass by.
You smile at me from bedroom;
From a wood print block.
Your face is everywhere
It gives me comfort to know
I will not forget my best furry friend.

Where’s Your Smiling Face [Revision]

Where’s your smiling face?
I saw it greet me every day.
From your bed your smiling face was there
Saying good morning let’s get going.
You would thump your tail in morning greeting;
After you would stretch and yawn.
Your smile would send me off as I went to work.
Return I would open door; you standing on stair landing;
Your tail wagging, smiling down at me.
You would smile when photos were taken;
Such a model and a natural.
When you raced around; you’d stopped and smile;
Then continue on with your zooming run.
How I miss your gorgeous smile of yours
Which you brighten up my life.

Zooming Dog Haiku Sonnet

The following is a Haiku Sonnet which is a cross between a Haiku and and a Sonnet. This poem consists of 4 3-line Haiku and a 2-line couple that could be 5 or 7 lines each. For more information a poet named David Marshall has some good examples of this type of poem.

Dog standing in hall
Flashing a big doggy grin
She ready to spring

To run back and forth
From one room to another
At very top speeds

Smiling, mouth open
To stair landing; back again
Around furniture

She use zoom around
Happy pup with energy
Now there is no more

I miss zooming of my dog
Brought smile to my face

Where’s Your Smiling Face

Where’s your smiling face which greeted me everyday?
Where you said good morning from your bed
I would see you stretch and yawn; thump your tail in morning greeting.
Saw your smile as I went off to work
Then work on kong getting treats out.
I return; door open you standing on landing wagging tail, smiling down at me;
I would come up to greet you.
You would smile when photos were taken; such a model you were a natural.
Or when you did your zoomies; you stopped and smiling; then continue on with the run.
Oh, how I miss that gorgeous smile which you always made me happy with it.
