I Sit and Ponder

I sit and ponder
To no great wonder
Why you and I are here?

Deep in thought
For which I tried not
What thoughts I could try to spare.

Why the world is so big
That you could fit many boat rigs,
Holding many souls so dear.

I am one so small among many
I feel loss among any
Who are above getting plenty.

So I continue to ponder
Before mind goes asunder.

Where Sand And Ocean Meets

Cool waves lap against my feet
Sand pools around my ankles
Gritty sand seeps through toes
I am held fast by the current
Sand retreats back into ocean
I stand locked in place
Looking across vast ocean
Thinking what maybe beyond distance horizon
What is there for me to see?
Will I ever get there to find it?
I think of this, watching sunset befofe my eyes

To Be A Dog

What would it be to be a dog
To lay around home doing nothing
Just sleeping the days away
Then with energy romp around
Playing with balls and toys
Only to stop and hear something outside
Race to each windows to find the source.
Window watch for awhile
Then relax again in a favorite spot
Thinking I have no responsibility
Except love and please my owner
